Go Cola Super Stock Cars - Waikaraka Park 1977-78
season
The Superstock term promoted by Waikaraka Park in the year 2000
is actually nothing new
for the venue as this program from 1978 proves.
This was when the track was run by Cowan-Black Promotions .
Funny thing is though there were no races on the 14 event card for
Superstocks instead there were events for Formula One and Formula Two
Stockcars .
Different from the expected norm is that Formula One was the lower
grade of the two .
I wonder if looking back 22 years is where we will find the answer
to the criticisms of the class names we use today .
Certainly would fit nicely with the way the English name their Stockcars
